Journey through the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, walking among rolling plantations, historic estates and colourful tea villages. Enjoy spectacular views across Castlereagh Reservoir and, on clear days, Adam's Peak rising above the mountains.

The hike begins in Kotagala near a colourful Hindu kovil and continues through Drayton Estate and past historic tea factories. The early kilometres introduce the working landscape and heritage of this important tea-growing region.

The route climbs above Hatton before reaching Singamalai Reservoir, a peaceful water source surrounded by forest and tea hills. Beyond the reservoir, the trail opens towards Castlereagh Reservoir and crosses estate communities, churches and old planter landmarks.

The final descent leads through tea paths towards Norwood, completing a varied stage that combines panoramic scenery, railway heritage and close encounters with hill-country communities.
