Highlights
Experience one of The Pekoe Trail's most panoramic stages between the twin valleys of Maskeliya and Bogawantalawa. The initial climb reveals breathtaking views across Maskeliya Reservoir, with sacred Adam's Peak rising beyond the surrounding mountains.

The route
Norwood is the gateway to the Bogawantalawa Valley, celebrated as the Golden Valley of Tea. The route begins with a steady climb through Norwood Estate towards the ridge separating the Bogawantalawa and Maskeliya valleys.
From the ridge, hikers enjoy outstanding views towards Adam's Peak and the reservoir before descending through the WWCT conservation corridor and into Kew Estate. This quieter section offers tea-country biodiversity and a sense of remoteness.
The final kilometres zigzag through open tea fields, pass a historic church and finish in Bogawantalawa town. The stage can also be walked in reverse for a gentler overall experience.
